Why be a fool for the powers that be? We have one side of the bigger parties that says they are for the common man. Gee, that sure does sound good! Yep, that would be the Democrats. They care, and they will be the first to tell you. Then you have the Republicans who tell us every day that they want us to keep more of our own money. How can you not like that? After all, most of us believe we know how to spend our money better than the government does. Then you have the negatives that both parties pile on us. The Democrats tell us that Republicans are rich guys that care little for the common man and that they are stealing from working man. Then you have the Republicans who tell us that the Democrats only want big government and all of our money. Wow, what do we do that that?
First off, lets get one thing clear. Research has already shown that Democrats make more money than Republicans on average. Then you have Republicans who say that Democrats want bigger government. Really? Well what was that expansion of government we saw in the first part of the 21st century? The Republicans were in charge but expansion of government was beyond belief. That was until the Democrats took over and they went to high speed spending. So now the Republicans weren't as bad as the Democrats. Wow, what an argument. I'm not so sure I like or believe either one of them. Do you?
So, the battle lines are drawn. Which version is going to make you vote their way? Obviously, one side is the enemy, right? So, let's take sides and root for out team. There is only one real problem with this. Have you done the research? Just because these Candidates have told you how much they care, have you cared enough to check out their story or do you just believe whatever they say? Basically, don't be a lazy voter. Believe it or not, the politicians not only want you to be lazy but they are depending on it. I am sure you have heard the expression "When the cats away the mice will play." They wants us Cats to be away! Also, don't just look at the votes! See what the actual legislation was that they were voting on, and don't just look at the vote with the talking points. It's our job as voters to check their work. You see what happens when we don't!
Let's face it, we have been very lazy voters. The politicians love voting on bills with all kinds of add-ons because then they can say that they did, or did not vote for or against something. It's a very confusing game and the "experts" or the "experienced" in D.C. and our state and local communities know it, and love it that way. The end of it is, WE are the pawns. However, we pay the bills. Unfortunately, now our children are being stuck with bills and most that will be stuck with OUR bills haven't even been born yet.
Ultimately, it's our fault. We were lazy. We picked a side, and many times pick that side without thinking, and actually believing what these people who represent us are telling us. Let's stop picking our Representatives by perception. The reason they need lots of money to get elected is because they are fully aware that most of us don't pay attention and select our Candidates by tv and radio commercials, as though they are a box of cereal or a new car. The sooner we admit that have done an awful job, the better. Don't we, our children, and future generations deserve that? Ultimately, we blew it, now lets fix it! Stop sticking your hands out looking for something, start sticking your arms up and being counted as a truly informed voter! Our country needs us, isn't it time we show up?
I believe the single greatest challenge the Tea Party has...educating voters. Educating them to want to educate themselves. You are quite right; we have been lazy, and gotten the Government we deserved.

What we cannot do Ike is to let the powers that be fool us into thinking they care. They can show us by their actions but until they do we must put as much pressure on them as we can. We cannot let up as they do expect!
